Background

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded firm of Costs Lawyers specialising in Clinical Negligence and celebrating more than 40 years in business. A Costs Lawyer/Draftsperson is required to join our bill drafting and budgeting team. Applicants will ideally have experience of Clinical Negligence work although candidates with experience in other areas will be considered. The successful candidate will be able to manage their own case load of costs files with minimal supervision. 
The role is based in our Chester office – normal hours 9am to 5pm, with remote working available after a period of initial training.

Responsibilities

•    Preparing Bills of Costs and Budgets in a range of PI and Clinical Negligence cases
•    Preparing advice and reports to clients
•    Ensuring all cases are dealt with promptly in compliance with SLAs and agreed timescales 
•    Meeting billing targets

Ideal Candidate
•    Minimum 1 years’ experience drafting Bills of Costs and Budgets
•    Experience with Costsmaster
•    Law Graduate/LPC
•    Effective communication skills
•    Good IT skills
•    Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines and targets
•    Good attention to detail 
•    Ability to work collaboratively as an effective team player 
•    Determination to succeed
